GREEN SPORTS DAY | Impact Community. Demonstrate Leadership. Inspire Action.

Join us on Tuesday, October 6 as we celebrate Green Sports Day—a worldwide celebration of the positive impact sports can have for people and the planet. Together with communities across the country and around the globe, Portland will be part of this day of action, demonstrating how teamwork can create lasting environmental change both on and off the playing fields.
This year, we'll come together to care for one of the most beautiful regions in the Pacific Northwest through a hands-on community cleanup in Portland. As the fall season approaches, litter, and other debris can quickly wash into storm drains, rivers, and streams with the first heavy rains. By removing litter before it reaches our waterways, we'll help protect water quality, support healthier habitats for wildlife, and preserve the natural places that make our region so special.
Whether you're a sports fan, athlete, outdoor enthusiast, or simply passionate about making a difference, this is an opportunity to connect with others who believe in the power of teamwork, community, and environmental stewardship. Invite your family, friends, coworkers, and teammates—every helping hand contributes to a healthier, cleaner future.
What to Expect:
- A fun, hands-on cleanup from 10am to 12pm, celebrating Green Sports Day!
- Meetup Location: Tom McCall Waterfront Park, 2 SW Naito Pkwy, Portland.
- An opportunity to connect with others who share a passion for sports, sustainability, and community
- The chance to be part of a worldwide movement demonstrating the positive impact sports can have for people and the planet
- Cleanup supplies and safety equipment provided by SOLVE
- A meaningful way to help protect Portland's rivers, streams, and neighborhoods before the fall rains arrive
Together, we'll show that the spirit of teamwork extends far beyond the game. Join us on Green Sports Day and help protect the waterways, parks, and neighborhoods that keep the Portland metro healthy, vibrant, and thriving for generations to come.
