Dawson Creek Cleanup -- Brookwood Pkwy Field
Join SOLVE for a cleanup of Dawson Creek in Hillsboro. Dawson Creek is a vital habitat and ecologically sensitive waterway that could greatly benefit from your help. Volunteers will focus on removing litter and other waste to prevent microplastics and pollutants from entering the creek, helping protect local wildlife, improve water quality, and preserve this important natural area for the community.
Volunteers will meet up at field (indicated with red dot in the image below) just south of NE Veterans Drive and the Max tracks on NE Brookwood Prkwy. Look for cones and SOLVE signs. At 10am arrive for check in, receive equipment, and listen to a short safety orientation. Participants will then walk over to the work site nearby. SOLVE will provide all the equipment, instruction, and disposal.
Advanced Registration: Is required. Please sign up (green button below) ahead of time to guarantee your spot.
Meeting Location: We'll meet at the field on NE Brookwood Parkway, just south of the Max tracks.

What to Bring: Please wear closed-toed shoes and weather-appropriate clothing, and bring a backpack for hands-free convenience. Feel free to bring your personal tools if available and a reusable water bottle to support our sustainability efforts.
What's Provided: SOLVE will provide gloves, bags, trash grabbers, and safety vest, as well as instruction and safety guidance. Volunteers will need to bring clothes they feel comfortable moving in, closed toed shoes, and a waterbottle.
