SW Green Dumpster Day
The Multnomah Neighborhood Association, in partnership with METRO, is hosting one of the largest Bulky Item Disposal & Recycling Events we've held in years—and we need your help to make it happen!
We're expecting up to 300 households to bring items that are too large for curbside bins or are difficult to recycle or dispose of responsibly. Think old furniture, mattresses, broken household items, and more.
This isn't just a "dumpster day." It's a community-powered event that combines the convenience of a cleanup day with the spirit of an eco-fair, helping ensure that reusable and recyclable materials are sorted properly and kept out of the landfill whenever possible.
Volunteer Opportunities
We're looking for energetic, community-minded volunteers to fill a variety of roles:
🚗 Greeters – Welcome participants and help them get checked in.
💵 Cashiers – Assist with collecting event fees and answering basic questions.
💪 Haulers – Help unload items from vehicles and move them to the appropriate collection areas.
🚦 Traffic & Safety Team – Keep cars moving smoothly and ensure a safe experience for everyone.
☕ Refreshment Table Hosts – Keep volunteers fueled, hydrated, and smiling.
🏃 Runners – Jump in wherever needed to keep the event running smoothly.
**You can sign up for "shift 1" (8am-10:30am), "shift two" (10:30am-1pm) or both!**
Advanced Registration: Is required. Please sign up (green button below) ahead of time to guarantee your spot.

What to Bring: Please wear closed-toed shoes and weather-appropriate clothing, and bring a backpack for hands-free convenience. Feel free to bring your personal tools if available and a reusable water bottle to support our sustainability efforts.

Restrooms: Building restrooms will be open to volunteers
Parking: Volunteers will drive into parking lot of 5700 SW Dosch Road and be directed to park at upper parking lot volunteer parking
Transit: Bus line 54 & 56 stop at the corner of SW Beaverton Hillsdale Hwy & SW Dosch Road. Portland Christian Center is on the NE corner
Accessibility: This area may not be easily accessible for folks with mobility concerns.
Translation Services: There will be a Spanish speaker present at this event.
Participant Age Guidelines: Required 18 and Over
