War on Weeds - Sunriver, OR

For the 26th year in a row volunteers will help pull spotted knapweed on Sunriver’s common areas. War on Weeds is largely a self-managed volunteer event facilitated by online maps, an extended project period in which you choose how much and when you want to pull, and freedom to select your work area. Newcomers to Sunriver are encouraged to ask for additional guidance by reaching out to naturalresources@srowners.org.

When: August 1-14, 2026

Where: Various locations in Sunriver, Oregon. Route to the Sunriver Owners Association (SROA) Administration Building at 57455 Abbot Drive, Sunriver, OR 97707 for supplies.

What to Bring: Work gloves and closed-toe shoes are required. Long sleeves, pants, hats and sunscreen are recommended. Water bottle and snacks, if needed. Although spotted knapweed is often easily hand-pulled, you are welcome to bring any favorite manual weed-pulling tools you may have.
