Public Lands Day Weekend - 2026
Public Lands Day Weekend is September 25, 26, 27. SOLVE cleanup is Saturday, Sept. 26
Join us in our Adopt-A-River and Love-Your-Lakes initiatives. We will be cleaning Elk, Dunlap, and Short Lakes.
Free camping at Cleator Bend Group Campground for SOLVE registrants and additional RSVP with Friends of the Breitenbush Cascades (friends@breitenbushcascades.org or 503-897-8575)
Elk and Dunlap Lakes are adjacent to the Opal Creek and Bull of the Woods Wildernesses there is a moderate drive and the final strectchs of the road requires high wheel clearance. Short Lake is a short drive from Cleator Bend Group Campground.
This years checkin and day of event registration will be within Cleator Bend Group Campground.
Advanced Registration: Is required. Please sign up (green button below) ahead of time to guarantee your spot.

What to Bring: Please wear closed-toed shoes and weather-appropriate clothing, and bring a backpack for hands-free convenience. Feel free to bring your personal tools if available and a reusable water bottle to support our sustainability efforts.
What's Provided: All tools and equipment necessary. Bring food, water, snacks, and layered clothing
Restrooms: Pit Vault Toilet at Cleator Bend Group Campground and Elk Lake Campground
Parking: Gravel, and pavement
Transit: Not available nearby
Accessibility: This area may not be easily accessible for folks with mobility concerns.
Translation Services: There will not be a Spanish speaker present at this event.
Participant Age Guidelines: Recommended for Ages 13 and Up
